Celebrate Purple Friday with the Sexual Health and BBV team

The last Friday of February celebrates Purple Friday – a day to stand against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia and show our support for LGBTI equality.

Purple Friday is all about taking action; standing for equality and inclusion and helping us make Scotland the best place for LGBTI people to live. The day, first celebrated in Canada in 2010, is named after the purple stripe on the LGBT rainbow flag, representing “spirit”.

This year, the Sexual Health & BBV MCN are showing their “spirit” by hosting an awareness raising stall on Friday, 28 February at the Sexual Reproductive Health service in Ninewells Hospital.

On the same day, the University of Dundee’s School of Medicine will be holding an information stall on the concourse of Ninewells Hospital.

Staff from the teams will be on hand to talk about the great work underway and the ongoing challenges we all face in ensuring all of our colleagues and the public feel able to access our services.

There might even be some fabulous freebies on offer so pop along and join in the fun!
