A ‘healthcare experience’ event was held at Perth Royal Infirmary to give secondary school pupils an insight into a range of healthcare roles.
Around 50 pupils took part in simulation-based learning experiences which covered 11 different professions. They also heard from University of Dundee students about different health courses, why they chose their professions and advice on applying to university.
The event was a great success with 90% of pupils saying that it taught them about professions they didn’t previously know about and 100% saying they are now considering a career in health.
The event was also supported by NHS Tayside staff, patient volunteers and the Perth & Kinross Developing the Young Workforce team.
