NHS Tayside’s Child Protection Service Launches First Annual Report

NHS Tayside’s Child Protection (CP) Service has launched its first Annual Report at a series of events across the region.

The CP Service is made up of medical, nursing and other key professionals who work collaboratively with all health staff and partners to ensure children and young people in Tayside are safe.

The CP Service ensures that:

  • Paediatric medical staff are available 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week to provide child protection advice, medical care and assessment
  • All staff within NHS Tayside have access to sound advice, appropriate training and supervision to enable them to feel confident and competent in their role to protect and promote the wellbeing of children and young people

SIDE Child Protection Annual ReportLead nurse CP Jayne Smith and lead paediatrician CP Dr Katherine Lawlor launched the Child Protection Annual Report for 2018/19 at events in Angus, Dundee and Perth & Kinross.

Jayne said, “Our annual report reflects key achievements and the breadth of work undertaken in 2018/19 to better meet the needs of children and young people at risk of harm.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who works hard every day to achieve high quality outcomes for children and young people involved in the child protection system across Tayside.”
