Help support Mission Christmas

The transport and logistics department is supporting Tay FM’s Mission Christmas appeal and is calling on staff across Tayside to donate gifts.

Transport and logistics manager Sharon Hutchison said, “The team has chosen to support Mission Christmas this year as this particular cause is committed to supporting local children who are living in poverty.

“Initially we thought that the department would pull together and donate gifts which would then be distributed to our local children through the charity to help brighten up Christmas day.

“However it was very clear that there was real enthusiasm to make even more of a difference for children and this led to a rethink of our plans. We agreed that it would be more magical for our local children if we widened our appeal so that all NHS Tayside staff had the opportunity to support this worthwhile cause.

“We already manage the transport and logistics of goods across Tayside and regularly visit sites to deliver or collect items so we have set up some drop-off points for staff to leave gifts and we will gather them all to donate to the charity.

“If you would like to support us please ensure that all donated gifts are new and unwrapped so that the charity can match the gifts to the age and sex of each child.

“We are accepting donations from now up to Monday, 16 December 2019 and remember that when you donate your gifts, they all go to disadvantaged children near you.

“Please help make our local kids have a happy Christmas this year.”
