Craft donation for Children’s Hospital
The Tayside Children’s Hospital received a lovely donation of craft items from Ava Rennie and her mum Sarah.
Sarah said, “Christmas cards are recycled when the festive period is over. So instead of buying cards and stamps this year, we decided to buy craft items for the children’s hospital.
“We worked out how much we normally spend on cards and stamps and used that to buy the items Ava chose.”
Accepting the donation, senior play specialist Una Paton said, “A big thank you to Ava and her mum Sarah for their kind donation. The children will have a great time creating fun arts and crafts!”
Kind donation in memory of loving gran
A Dundee woman has donated £1,200 to ward 6 at Ninewells Hospital in memory of her gran.
Jena Jamieson took part in the Aviemore half marathon in October to raise money for the ward which treated her gran, Jean Bruinsma, before she sadly passed away in May this year.
Jena said, “I wanted to do something for the ward to thank them for taking great care of my gran. I chose the Aviemore half marathon because the first part of the marathon is at Loch Morlich where I used to go camping with my gran when I was younger.”
Accepting the donation, senior charge nurse Nicki Hedley said, “Jean was a lovely lady who we all got to know quite well and it was sad when she passed away. Jena and her mum Jill also got to know all of us in ward 6 when her gran was here. It’s amazing how much she raised for ward 6. On behalf of everyone, I would like to thank Jena and Jill so much for their kind gesture.”
