Update on corridor closures at Ninewells

Staff should be aware of corridor closures at Ninewells which will be in place from Monday, 18 November.

It is important that staff familiarise themselves with any corridor closures and changes to access, and allow themselves additional time to move around the hospital.

Level 5: corridor width restriction and reopening of west block theatre corridor

On Monday, 18 November, the Level 5 corridor behind the west theatres will re-open.

However, the corridor width outside the south entrance to the maternity block and labour suite will be temporarily reduced.

Full access will be retained in this corridor as the restriction in width will still allow for beds to move through the corridor.

The width restriction in this corridor will continue until August 2020.

Please see Level 5 floor plan below for information:

Level 6: corridor closure and pedestrian access barriers in place

The corridor between the current paediatric theatre (Ward 30) and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Ward 40) will be closed.

Staff should be aware that there will be no access through this corridor from Monday, 18 November 2019 until summer 2020.

Barriers will be in place outside the south entrance to the maternity block and labour suite. There will be no pedestrian access for approximately 10 weeks.

***There will be a fire escape retained for bed evacuation***

Please see Level 6 floor plan below for information.

Any member of staff who has concerns about how this corridor closure might affect them should speak to their line manager in the first instance.
