Dundee Dental Hospital staff took part in a very successful team building session held at Dundee University.
The event was organised by the clinical governance team and facilitated by army personnel from the 205 Scottish Field Hospital, 225 Medical regiment and Dundee Army Careers Office.
The outdoor event in the Geddes Quadrangle was well attended with 100 staff coming along. Throughout the day, teams worked together to solve a variety of technical and practical problems, learning from each other whilst offering support and encouragement at the same time.
Specialty registrar in orthodontics Colin Ritchie said, “Everyone who took part in the event declared that they had a fantastic time and developed lots of existing skills.
“Many thanks to the army personnel involved and for all those that took part to make this a brilliant day and congratulations to the winning team.”
Effective leadership and teamwork is an essential component of delivering the best patient care possible and regular clinical governance sessions are important.
To comply with NHS Tayside’s Clinical Governance Policy, Dental Hospital staff hold regular clinical governance sessions every two to three months. For this session the clinical governance team agreed to hold a more interactive activity team building session with support from army personnel.
All clinical governance sessions are run free of cost as any invited speakers attend the sessions voluntarily and do not charge for their service.
