A pop up café was held in ward 38 at Ninewells to create a supportive and friendly environment for mums taking the first steps towards breastfeeding in public.
Scotland’s new national Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland scheme is aimed at encouraging women to breastfeed out and about in public spaces.
Many cafés, shops and football stadiums will be displaying the new logo to show that they will provide support to breastfeeding mothers on their premises.
During Scottish Breastfeeding Awareness Week (2 to 8 June) women were encouraged to post a photo of themselves breastfeeding wherever they were.
Maternity staff were also asked to promote the new national Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland scheme, sharing any photos of new mothers and newborns having vital skin to skin contact.
