Dr John Colvin, consultant in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine, was presented with an award by the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) at a ceremony in London.
President of the RCoA Professor Ravi Mahajan presented John with the College Medal, praising the contribution he has made to training and education in NHS Tayside and his role as an examiner with the College.
In 2012 John was elected to the College Council as the sole Scottish member from a cohort of over 1,000 anaesthetists in Scotland.
As Chair of the Scottish Advisory Board of the RCoA, John has extensively promoted the work of the College to its members in Scotland to ensure that their voice is heard in the College and beyond. John also led a Quality Improvement (QI) working group and was the Academy Lead, ensuring its introduction across the whole profession.
