Patient thanks neurosurgery ward
A former patient presented televisions, hairdryers and mirrors to the neurosurgery ward at Ninewells Hospital as thanks for the fantastic care she received from all the staff who looked after her.
Friends and family of Rachel Brown, a former patient in Ward 23B, celebrated her recovery with a party in the Dundee Social Club. Rachel’s aunt hit upon the idea to turn the event into a fundraiser and also enlisted the help of staff from the orthopaedic outpatient department at Ninewells in her fundraising attempt.
Over £600 in total was raised by everyone involved.
Accepting the donation on behalf of Ward 23B, senior charge nurse Paola Niven said, “Rachel’s family very kindly asked us what we needed most. This was such a lovely gesture as we had some televisions needing replaced and items such as hairdryers and individual mirrors are always really useful for patients.
“We are extremely grateful to Rachel and everyone who helped raise the money for these items.”
