New Clinical Director for Hospital at Night and Doctors in Training Rotas

Will Anderson

Consultant respiratory physician Dr William Anderson has been appointed as Clinical Director for Hospital at Night and Doctors in Training Rotas.

This new role is designed to provide medical leadership to the Hospital at Night (HAN) teams based at Ninewells Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary.  The post includes a leadership role in promoting effective and safe handover, doctors in training rota compliance and promotion of workforce wellbeing in the out-of-hours environments.

Dr Anderson said, “I am honoured to have been appointed to this new role and look forward to the challenges it will bring, having both trained and worked in Tayside over many years.  The safety of all our patients and the service we provide go hand in hand with the working environment, educational opportunities and wellbeing of our staff.

“The particular focus of my role will be in supporting our Hospital at Night colleagues and doctors in training at all levels in each of these areas, through strategic rota oversight, professional engagement and communication  alongside an improvement plan that looks ahead to the landscape of healthcare service delivery and shape of training in the future.  I look forward to meeting and working with all staff in my new role.”
