SIDE Winter illness guidance from HPS.jpgHealth Protection Scotland (HPS) has issued guidance to NHS Boards around norovirus and influenza.

Norovirus

The latest figures on norovirus reported to HPS by NHS Boards show increased norovirus activity, therefore boards should now begin to implement their active plans.

The following guidance and supporting materials are available for 2018 season:

General information to prepare for and manage novovirus (all care settings)

New care homes guidance provides key information to assist with prevention and control of infection in care homes, including information for staff and patients. The norovirus care homes poster has been updated to reflect this new guidance.

Posters and leaflets for the ‘Stay at home’ campaign are being sent out to boards. A new webpage has been created for the campaign and includes social media messages and graphics.

Information for the public can be found on NHS Inform.  During December norovirus will be added to the front page of the NHS Inform website as part of the seasonal information.

Influenza
