Planned telephony outages across Tayside

SIDE Planned telephony outages across Angus

Please be advised that there will be essential upgrades carried out to the telephone system across Tayside next week.

Upgrades will take place over two nights at Ninewells Hospital. During this time there will be a loss to telephony services which will last for approximately 20 to 60 minutes.

Outage 1 – Monday, 26 November between 11pm and 12.30am

The outage will only affect extensions in the following number ranges:

32000 – 33999
35000 – 35649
35700 – 35749

Outage 2 – Wednesday 28 November between 12.30am and 1.30am

The outage will only affect extensions in the following number ranges:

34000 – 34999
36000 – 36799
40000 – 40899

During these outages you will be unable to make any outbound calls to landline or mobiles, or dial extensions on any other site e.g. Perth Royal Infirmary, Stracathro from these extension numbers.

No incoming calls via DDI numbers to the above numbers (callers will be able to get access via Switchboard on 01382 660111)

** Please note all new Mitel IP phones will be fully operational during this time.
Paging calls and access to 2222 will be unaffected

There will also be upgrades carried out at the following sites in Angus:

  • Arbroath Infirmary on Monday, 26 November between 7.30pm and 8.30pm
  • Links Health Centre, Montrose on Tuesday, 27 November between 8.30pm and 9.30pm
  • Whitehills HCCC on Thursday, 29 November between 12.30am and 1.30​am

During this time there will be a loss to telephony services which will last for approximately 20 to 60 minutes.

Services affected during the outage:

  • No access to outgoing calls – mobiles, landlines or NHS Tayside extensions on other sites i.e. Ninewells
  • No incoming calls to the site – DDI or via Switchboard Services
  • No access to 2222
  • No access to paging system
  • No access to Switchboard Services

Please follow your business continuity plans for telephony failure during this time, e.g. activate emergency mobiles in your area

We appreciate this is disruptive to normal business but it is imperative that we carry out this work.
