Tayside Council on Alcohol (TCA) is seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join its Board of Directors.
Established in 1972, TCA is one of the leading providers of support services in the Tayside area for people who are affected by the misuse of alcohol.
As a non-executive member of the Board you’ll play a central role in developing strategy, monitoring quality and governance and supporting the provision of services. Members of the Board can contribute to the work of TCA by providing effective links with key partner organisations such as local and national government, the NHS and the Police.
You will have had working experience at a senior level in one or more of the following: social work, health, local or national government, corporate governance, law, accountancy, fund raising, advocacy or communications. A knowledge of current local community issues as well as local authority priorities and strategies would be advantageous for applicants. In addition a knowledge of the Third Sector and Regulation of Care legislation would also be an advantage.
Please note that in particular, TCA are interested in recruiting suitable applicants with a background at a senior level in Marketing/Media, Legal, HR, Research and Development and IT.
The Board meets around four times per year and there is also the opportunity to contribute to quarterly Audit, HR or Finance Sub-Committees.
Board membership is voluntary and unpaid, although travel expenditure may be reimbursed. Learning and development opportunities exist for all Board members, including induction and ongoing training.
