A successful interactive information sharing and education event for newly qualified practitioners (NQPs) was held within the orthopaedic department at Ninewells.
This was the first time this event has been organised with the aim of welcoming, valuing and providing support to the new NQPs who will be taking up their first registered posts within NHS Tayside, in orthopaedics at Ninewells and PRI.
The feedback from past NQPs contributed to the topics discussed at the event in addition to orthopaedic specific topics and services delivery and transformation information.
Attendees had the opportunity to hear presentations from the Perth and Ninewells orthopaedic senior charge nurses, a head of nursing, practice education facilitator and consultant orthopaedic surgeon.
A recent newly qualified nurse practitioner also delivered a presentation on the NQP journey.
Practice education facilitator Heather Robb said, “This event has proved very successful with very positive feedback received from participants.
“Offering this new support to our newly appointed NQPs has involved the whole team who helped to create and deliver this interactive event.”
