The Datix Team has begun a reconfiguration of the Datix system to come in line with NHS Tayside’s new organisational structure.
The changes will be mainly focused around the hierarchy fields such as directorate, service and speciality which will now change to clinical divisions, clinical care groups and departments.
The work began on Monday, 29 October for Medicine. Users should be aware that there will be changes to the fields in Datix and the codes within those fields.
- The field Directorate/HSCP will be renamed Clinical Division/HSCP
- The field Clin Group/Dept will be renamed Clinical Care Group
- The field Speciality will be renamed Department
The team would like to thank users for their patience during this time and encourage staff to contact the Clinical Governance and Risk Management Team if they experience any issues.
Software Upgrade of Datix
There is a software upgrade scheduled for Thursday, 8 November which will include a period of down time. Datix Ltd estimate the system will be unavailable between 10am and 5.30pm. We appreciate your patience in this matter.
Many catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) are a source of preventable harm, therefore, a category has been made available in the Datix system to record such adverse events. Recording of CAUTI within the DATIX system will enable learning at local level, optimise patient care outcomes, preserve safety of future catheterised patients and provide assurances in response to recent HAI inspection requirements.
