NHS Tayside staff have been shortlisted in two categories in the 2018 Quality Improvement Awards.
The Neonatal Unit at Ninewells is a finalist in the Excellence for QI in Maternity, Neonatal and Paediatric Services category for its ‘Unite – Keeping Families Together’ initiative.
The project involves a team of doctors, midwives, maternity care assistants and advanced nurse practitioners which aims to keep families together by reducing term admissions to the neonatal intensive care unit.
Paediatric registrar Dr Lauren Shaw was shortlisted in the Quality Improvement Champion Award, which recognises individuals who have demonstrated a relentless focus on driving forward quality improvement with a focus on improving outcomes for babies, children, young people and their families.
The Quality Improvement Awards celebrate those who are delivering improvement methods across Scotland as part of the Maternity and Children’s Quality Improvement Collaborative (MCQIC) and the Children and Young People’s Improvement Collaborative (CYPIC).
The shortlist is available to view on the CYPIC website. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in Glasgow on 13 November.
Best of luck to our finalists from everyone at NHS Tayside!
