NHS Tayside’s HIV, Blood Born Viruses (BBV) and Sexual Health teams were delighted to attend Dundee’s first Pride event on Saturday, 22 September, and march in celebration and support of the LGBT community in Tayside.

Dundee Pride started off with a procession through the heart of the city followed by a public event with community/commercial stalls, live entertainment, refreshments and much more. The free event was organised by Dundee Pride.

The Sexual Health & BBV teams marched in the procession under the new NHS Tayside rainbow flag.

Health promotion officer with the Sexual Health & BBV team Graeme Cockburn said, “Our theme for the day was #ally. To be an LGBT ally is easy. If you agree in equality and fair treatment in society of people who identify as LGBT then already you are an ally.

“We were very keen to reinforce our LGBT Gold Charter Award and also make sure NHS Tayside was represented at Dundee Pride as a safe environment for patients to come to.”
