Staff are invited to take part in a Steps to Health walk which takes place in the grounds of Ninewells every Tuesday lunchtime.

Steps to Health is a health walk project funded by NHS Tayside’s Community Innovation Fund, Paths for All, the Forestry Commission and Leisure & Culture Dundee.  It provides short health walks from hospital and community venues for adults with long term health conditions, and their family, friends and carers.

Steps to Health walks are short and include time for refreshments and for participants to chat and get to know each other. Participants are welcome to bring a family member, friend or carer along if they prefer.

It also offers lunchtime group walks for staff which last around 30 minutes. All staff are welcome to come along for fresh air, exercise and a chat with colleagues as they walk.  A walk at Ninewells takes place every Tuesday at 12.15pm leaving from the Health Shop in the main concourse.

Steps to Health also offers the opportunity to work directly with specific departments or teams to develop walking programmes, or integrate patients into Steps to Health walks where appropriate.
