NHS Tayside’s Occupational Therapy team is holding workshops in Dundee to help develop children’s pre-writing skills.
The fun packed ‘Little Scribblers’ workshops, which initially ran in Angus last summer before being extended to Dundee, are aimed at children aged 3-5 years and include ideas on how to develop hand and finger strength, tips on how to support pencil grasp and pre-writing ideas to try at home.
The sessions are an hour long and have different stations for parents and their children to work at, focusing on the key skills that children need to develop their pre-writing skills.
It is hoped that parents and carers gain a better understanding of activities and games that they can do together at home that will help handwriting development.
The workshops will take place at:
Finmill Centre on Tuesday, 28 August from 2-3pm
Douglas Community and Library Centre on Thursday 27 September from 10.30-11.30am
Butterfly Café on Tuesday 23 October from 10.30-11.30am
