The Ninewells ERCP endoscopy service presented a prize-winning poster at the Scottish Society of Gastroenterolgy Conference.
Staff nurses Shona Pryde and Cheryl Martin shared the poster ‘Improvement of an ERCP Service in Practice’ with the team winning first place in the Derek Gillen Prize.
Shona and Cheryl brought back a cheque for £200 which has gone to Tayside Health Fund and will support developments within the endoscopy unit to benefit patients.
Senior charge nurse in endoscopy Wendy Dowdles said, “We were delighted to have the opportunity to attend the conference as it gave staff the opportunity to share their work and tell a national audience about the improvements we have made to the service. The poster will also be presented at the British Society of Gastroenterology Conference later this month.”
The ERCP team in endoscopy also recently won the Silver NHS Tayside STAR Award in the Quality/Service Improvement category for their work to redesign the service and reduce waiting times.
