This is a standalone module delivered through an online learning environment. It can also be taken as part of the Graduate Certificate Sexual and Reproductive Health.

What attendance is required?

The module is delivered entirely online, allowing you to work at your own pace. There will also be structured learning activities, as well as interactive discussions using the online learning environment. Guidance and support will be provided to all students.

What does the module cover?

The module explores sexual health from a socio-cultural perspective, with a particular focus on implications for service provision. Topics include pornography and pornification, sexuality in later life, gender-based violence, and the influence of technology on sexual behaviours (sexting and dating apps). Sexual and gender identities, and the emotional and psychological facets of sexual wellbeing are also explored.
