We all know that exercise is good for us but not everyone wants or has time to go to the gym, go out running or get on a bike. This is where The Daily Mile can really help. It is quick, simple and free to make The Daily Mile part of your day.
The Daily Mile started as a simple and successful initiative to address the lack of physical activity in schoolchildren and now NHS Tayside has taken up the Scottish Government’s invitation for workplaces to get involved.
Build it into your daily routine:
- walk to work
- park further away or get off the bus a stop early
- go for a lunchtime walk
- take the stairs, not the lift
- walk to see colleagues rather than email – or have a walking meeting
More information to help you get active can be found on the Healthy Working Lives Staffnet pages.
