Almost 700 nominations have been received for NHS Tayside’s Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Awards.
Patients, relatives, members of the public and staff have been nominating since the beginning of January, with a total of 697 nominations being made for individuals, services and teams for who have delivered outstanding care or gone the extra mile in their role.
The nominations period is now closed and a multi-disciplinary panel will shortlist the entries to six finalists in each of the categories. There will then be a gold, silver and bronze winner for each category which will be announced at the STAR Awards ceremony at The Apex in April.
NHS Tayside Chairman Professor John Connell said, “We are overwhelmed by the number of nominations that we have received and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate someone. Last year we received around 400 nominations so to beat that by such a large amount is fantastic.
“The range of nominations reflects the hard work and commitment of our staff who go above and beyond every day to deliver high-quality healthcare services to people all over Tayside.
“We know from feedback from those individuals and teams nominated that being recognised in this way is a tremendous boost to morale and very much appreciated.”
The STAR Awards are being delivered with support from the Tayside Health Fund.
